The Bay Area Electric Railroad Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates CHIPPS and the Western Railway Museum. Our mission is to excite all people and inspire future generations with experiences that interpret the living history of electric railroading by educating visitors on railroading’s impact on transportation, societal change, technological advancements, and economic development.
